Tyler hanging out with lily

We were at my parents house for thanksgiving and tyler decided that lily wanted to sit on top of the fridge.

Christmas Lights

I love putting up christmas lights. I bought some candy canes for the christmas party so i decided to keep them and now i have a ginger bread house.

Happy Birthday Tyler

Tyler turned 27 this year. He always gives me ideas on what to give him but i always want to surprise him. So this year i decided to not even chance it. I ordered his present online and had it sent to his parents house. His dad comes up to beaver a couple a times a week and so he brought it up to his shop. He was completely surprised, so he said. I still think that he knew what he was getting.

she did it.

After the christmas party was all said and done I decided the next morning to rearrange my living room. I had lily on the floor behind me but i was busy moving couches so i always didn't have an eye on her. but I kept moving lily in different positions to keep her happy. but when i looked at her one time she was on her stomach and i was almost positive that i put her on her back. I had tyler come home real quick to see if he liked how i rearranged the room before i hooked all the cables up to the TV. I told him what happened with lily so he laid her on her back and with in 30 seconds she rolled over. I had tyler put her on her back gain so i could record it. Now she is a pro. I had a hard time keeping her on her back but as soon as she is on her stomach she get mad. Now a week later she doesn't even try to roll over. She loves sitting up.

christmas party

Tyler and I were in charge of the ward christmas party this year. We had a ton of fun but lily too the brunt of it. i was at the church at 3 setting up and i didn't go home till 9 when the party was all over. So Lily didn't get an afternoon nap or any sort of quiet time. There were plenty of volunteers to hold her which made it nice. For how tired she was she was very good. At the end of the night she gave us a big smile in front of the tree. She did sleep in the car for about ten minutes when i was running errands in the morning. it was so cute when her hat fell over her eyes.

almost

on Dec 7 Lily was so close to rolling over

sitting up

Lily is sitting up on her own. She still gets a little off balance so i put pillows all around her so when she falls she doesn't scream.

Holding her own bottle

Lily is growing up so fast on the first of December Lily started holding her own bottle. It makes a lot bigger mess but it frees up so much of my time.

Cutting down a tree

We had lots of fun cutting down a christmas tree with Clint and Jeannie. Lily was so cute in her snow outfit.

Love

While I was getting ready for the day (an accomplishment in its self) i was thinking, How do I show love to Lily? If I tell her I love her then she just looks at me weird cause she's a baby. I can give her a kiss but she has no idea that that means love, I can give her a hug, but with her being a human board that doesn't know how to cuddle then, she doesn't know that that means love. I can't give her a treat because she's not old enough yet. I can't give her a high five, or tell her great job, or tell her that she is special. When I get up in the middle of the night so I can feed her she doesn't know that that's because of love. The only thing I could think of is when i know (guess) her tummy hurts and I hold her and rock her till she stops crying and I sing to her primary songs to comfort her. Or when I sit down with her and talk with her and make her smile.

I think this applies to everyone else in life as well. How do my visiting teaches ( the people i visit teach) know that I'm thinking about them, even the ones i don't know that much about and they don't go to church? How does my sister know that I'm thinking about her and worry about her and the decisions she is making? How does my family know that i'll be there for them no matter what, no matter the circumstance. How does my parents know I respect them and that I'm eternally grateful for the sacrifices that they have made for me. How does my Heavenly Father know that I love him? The only way they could know is if I do something. I could call the ladies I Visit teach and count that as my visit or I could even go visit them. I could tell my family that I love them. But what good is telling them, when they don't feel it. If I don't put my heart into it what good is it. I could say I love you but If I don't feel the love I feel for them when I say It then what good is it?

Then whole thing I'm trying to get to here is that we have to take the TIME. The time to show our love to the people that we love. I was reading one night in a book that was recommended to me before I got married. It's titled His Needs, Her Needs. In it the author stated that between husband and wife they need to spend 15 hours a week alone with your spouse giving each other undivided attentions without any distractions. No kids, No TV. Spending much of that time in a natural conversations. I know you are all reading this and thinking that this is impossible for financial reasons. But this was the authors point. If you think back to when you were dating each other if you didn't spend at least 15 hours a week together then you would probably not be together.

To conclude I would like to thank you all for reading my random thoughts, but I do believe that they could help. I wish that you will find the TIME to show that people that you love, that you love them.

The stats are in!

Today I went in for Lily's 4 month check up. It was so awesome I walked in the door handed them my insurance card to make a copy and before they were done I was already called back. Lily did such a great job. She was nice and still on the scale and only fussed (not cried) for a couple of minutes and was fine as we walked out the door. She weighs 13 lb 9 oz which is in the 50th percent tile as well as her head. She is 25 1/2 inches long which is in the 90th percent tile, Who knew. Maybe she won't be short like her dad.

Daylight Savings

So first of all I have to say I'm not a fan of daylight savings anymore. When I was in high school it was awesome because I got an extra hour of sleep. Now instead of Lily getting up at 6:30 she gets up at 5:00. I have no idea where the extra half hour came from. And instead of going to bed at 8:30 she goes to bed at 7:00, again I have no idea where the extra half hour went. I trying to change it so she goes to bed later but it's not working so well. I don't even want to talk about naps.
